She was predeceased by: her husband Charles E. Spencer; and her parents, James McElroy and Edna Blanchard McElroy. She is survived by: her sons, William Spencer (Laura Ferrari) of Monroe and David Spencer (Shannon O'Brien) of Bennington, Vt.; her granddaughter Anna Spencer of Champaign; her sister Jane Ross; and her brother-in-law Dr. Philip Ross of Bethesda. She is also survived by her best friend, were devoted parents.
