He is survived by: his children, Joe Sampaio (Maria), Tony Sampaio (Sandra), Aurelio Sampaio (Elisa), Octavio Sampaio (Christina), Oscar Sampaio (Lena), Amilcar Sampaio (Dina), Dina Cunha (Manny), Madalena Pereira (Jaime) and Maria Esteves (Val Jr.); his grandchildren, Tim, Samantha, Amanda, Jackie, Julian, Justin, Christina, Alex, Sean, Olivia, Jaime Jr., Jacob, Brianna, Kayla and Kyle; his brother Joao Sampaio; and his sisters-in-law, Maria Lopes and Ondina. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
