He was predeceased by: his parents, Miguel Mercado and Nilda Mercado (Padilla-Rivera); and his brother Eric Mercado. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Nieves Mercado; his daughters, Maxi Mercado of Palm Bay, FL, Bessie Gonzalez of Bristol and Lisa Mercado-Gonzalez of Stratford; his sister Bessie Mercado of Medford, NY; and his grandchildren, Ylana, Ryan, William, Marco, Alexander, Abrianna, Alyssa and Jalynn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
