He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond O. Abeling and Catherine Abeling (Murphy); his siblings, Francis Cusati, Lillian Jennings, William, Raymond, Charles and Mark Abeling; and his granddaughter Jessica Janelle.
He is survived by: his wife Priscilla Potter; and his children, Richard (Jean), Keith (JoAnn), Thomas (Emily), Brenda and Lisa. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Phalen Funeral Home (285 Migeon Ave, Torrington, CT 06790). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shriners Children's Hospital.
