He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Ellis and Lillian Ellis (Cochran); his wife Catherine Ellis (Corna); his son Earnest John Ellis; his grandchildren, Catherine, MaKayla and Raymond Ellis; and his sister Ernestine Sweeney.
He is survived by: his children, Daniel Elllis, Jr. (Kim) of Rocky Point, Lillian Fay (Phil) of Winsted, Catherine Gunthert of Wilmington, Lisa Oltsch (Carl), Ronald Ellis (Danielle) of Florence, Betty Swiderski (Ken) of Torrington and Robert Ellis (Kelly) of North Grafton, Massachusetts.; and his sisters, Jannette, Betty and Pauline. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
