She was loved and cherished by many people including: her daughters, Melissa and Taryn (Paul); her parents, Evelyn Jean Matava (Baltuskonis) and Robert Anthony Matava, Sr.; her grandparents, Eugene, Anna Baltuskonis (Killiany), John and Mary Matava (Roman); her brothers, Robert Matava, Jr., John Matava (Jennifer) and Michael Matava (Jennifer); her nieces and nephews, Alexis Muscaro (Stephen), Kayla Lukes, David Matava, Matthew Matava, Eric Matava, Aubrey Matava, Brianna Matava, Michael DiFronzo, Zackary Matava, Zoie Matava, Hunter Muscaro and Haylee Muscaro; and her husband Paul James Sokolik.

In lieu of flowers, Barbara requested that donations be made to The Little Guild of St. Francis or any local animal organization (where the donations will go "directly to the animals.").
