He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph H. Sr. Synott and Barbara Synott (Clark); and his sister Karen Synott. He is survived by: his significant other AnnMarie Synott (Dery); his children, Amy Pinette (Mike) of Bristol and Adam Synott (Mary) of Terryville; his siblings, Cheryl Synott, Steven Synott (Brenda) and Gary Synott (Doris); his grandsons, Mikey, TJ, Mason, Evan and Drew; and his pet Rosie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
