He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Newsome and Doris Newsome; his wife Shirley; and his sister Lois Ryan. He is survived by: his sons, George Jr. (Christine) of Thomaston, Richard of Thomaston, Robert Sr. (Louise) of Thomaston and John of Thomaston; and his grandchildren, George III (Kristen), Maryann, Robert Jr. (Chrissy), Sarah, Philip (Kelly), Karen and Donna. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
