He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles L. Packer and Alice M. Packer (Howard); his son Kyle Patrick Packer; and his sisters, Carol Cianchetti and Darlene Lassy.
He is survived by: his son Brett M. Packer (Kimberly) of Waterbury; and his brother Glenn Packer (Rena). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
