We are sad to announce that on July 25, 2020 we had to say goodbye to Hazel Althea Palen (Terryville, Connecticut), born in Bronx, New York. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Hazel Derry and Charles Derry; her former husband Philip White; her husband Jesse Palen; her daughter Melissa Jane Palen; and her great grandchild Katie White.

She is survived by: her children, Jack White (Carolyn), Don White (Denise), Nancy Gnitzcavich (Mark), Jesse Palen (Angela), Kimberly Parker (Michael) and Christopher Palen (Lisa). She is also survived by her sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Summer never officially started until Bud and Althea opened their cottage and hearts to the family they cherished and neighborhood friends. Sweet Althea was a fixture on the cottage porch, rocking gently in her chair and welcoming everyone to her home. It has been a pleasure and honor to have known Althea for 24 years.”
