He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Reed and Lillian Reed (Edmond); and his brothers, Ronald Reed and John "Jack" Reed. He is survived by: his children, Robert Reed of Terryville and Julie Reed of Naugatuck; his girlfriend Joyce Ashley of Terryville; his partner's children, Scott and Tammy Brown; his former wife Alison Reed of Terryville; and his sister-in-law Linda Reed of Orleans, MA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
