He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Wood and Sylvia Wood (Burlingame); his wife Linda Ann Wood (Zak); his brothers, Harry and Donald Wood; and his sister-in-law Janet Wood (McAlister).
He is survived by: his children, Richard P. Wood, Jr. (Shari) of Suffield, Janet Heim (Robert) of Suffield and Elizabeth Ortiz (Joseph) of Groveland, FL; his grandchildren, Katelyn, Sadie and Emma; and his sister-in-law Patti Wood of Westfield.
