She was predeceased by: her husband Ralph F. Merrell, Jr.; her parents, Earl Cole and Anna Cole (Anderton); her son Scott Merrell; her brother Robert Cole; and her close friend Betty Dalgleish.
She is survived by: her daughter Elizabeth "Libby" Deedy (Ray) of Suffield; her grandchildren, Lisa, Michael Deedy and Eric Merrell; and her great grandchildren, Hunter, Audriana and Isabella. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
