She was predeceased by: her brothers, Lawrence and Thomas. She is survived by: her husband Richard R. McCarty (Dick); her brother Walter Kaplan of Mendon; her children, Betsy Carr (Patrick) of Langhorne, Kit Kassel (Paul) of Geneva, Richard McCarty (Anne) of Plantsville and Margaret McCarty (Mark Baumhardt) of Wakefield; her grandchildren, Matthew Carr, Sarah Kassel, Mary Kassel, Rich McCarty, Sam McCarty, Zachariah Baumhardt and Alexandra Baumhardt; and her sisters-in-law, Irene Kaplan, Janice Kaplan and Colleen Kaplan. She is also survived by niece, nephews, godchildren, and many other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of the Kent Memorial Library, the Suffield Historical Society, or the Suffield Land Conservancy.
