He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Chavoya and Josephine Chavoya (Guedea); his sister Mary Louise Appel; and his brother-in-law Thomas Uliasz. He is survived by: his wife Angelica Babij Chavoya; his daughters, Stephanie LaPointe (Peter) of Stamford and Kristen Reilly (Paul) of Stratford; his grandchildren, Margaret Naamani (Mohamad), Robert Reilly, Susannah and Gabrielle LaPointe; his great grandchild Layla; his siblings, Dennis Chavoya (Debbie), Juanita Nanez (Joseph) and Diana Uliasz; and his friends, Rex, Stacey and Gerald. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mark Church (500 Wigwam Ln, Stratford, CT 06614). A graveside service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Lakeview Cemetery (885 Boston Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06610).
