He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Steele and Edith Raymond Steele; his wife Florence Rodey Steele of Montclair; and his siblings, Katherine S. Klaas, Raymond Steele, Elizabeth S. Bonner, John Wesley Steele and George Robert Steele.
He is survived by: his daughters, Helen Katherine S. Lea (Jeffrey Taylor Lea) of Fairfield, CT, Glen and Mildred Rodey Steele of Philadelphia, PA; his granddaughter Amanda Katherine Lea; his great grandchild Renlea Steele Stonecipher of St. Albans, VT; and his sister-in-law Joyce K. Steele. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a local VFW, specific United States Armed Forces branch, or the Connecticut Air and Space Center in Stratford could be considered.
