She was predeceased by: her husband John "Jack" W. Rourick; her parents, Herbert Butler and Elizabeth Reilly Butler; and her spouses, Herbert Butler (Elizabeth), Francis Butler (Helena) and John Butler (Margaret).
She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy Genga (Eddie) of Stratford, Colleen Mennillo (William) of Monroe and Jacqueline Smith (Douglas) of Stratford; her brother Donald Butler (Roberta) of Sebring, Florida; and her sister-in-law Irene Rourick of Bridgeport, CT. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions may be made in Joan's name, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
