He was predeceased by: his father Lt. Cornell; and his wife Joan Bardsley Whitney of Ashland. He is survived by: his child Kim; his siblings, Carole, Roberta and George; his children, Darice Leslie Herne (Raphael D'Ambruoso), James Kirk Millberry (Cathy Greer Millberry) and Kimberlee Whitney Horan (Richard Cacioppo); and his grandchild Sujatha Herne (Sebastian Suchecki).
