She was predeceased by: her father Celestino "Dino" DiVita; her son-in-law Richard Desmond; her husband Alan Bartelson of Stratford; her daughter Erica Mitchell; and her sons-in-law, Reese Mitchell of Stratford, Ashley Bartelson of Greensburg, PA, Scott Bartelson and Patrick Bartelson of New Haven.
She is survived by: her granddaughters, Lena Reese and Rosa Lynn Mitchell; her brother Robert DiVita; her sister-in-law Lynne DiVita of Shelton; her nephew Joseph Divita (Ciara DiVita) of Ossining, NY; and her niece Alaina DiVita of Shelton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the family for a future fund to remember Denise at Our Lady of Grace Parish.
