She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Joseph R. Mercier; and her siblings, Martin J. Keaveney, Raymond L. Keaveney and Bernadette Healy. She is survived by: her children, Michele M. Lewis (Thomas Lewis) of Westfield, MA, Monique M. Rounseville (Neal Rounseville), Julie M. Peinhardt (William Peinhardt) of Cheshire, CT, Marc P. Mercier (Helen Waldron Mercier) of Torrington, CT and Christopher S. Mercier (Beth Nesson) of Haddam, CT.; her grandchildren, Caroline Lewis, Bridget Lewis, Erin Lewis, Daniele Rounseville Kasper (Drew), Kyle Rounseville, Jordan Rounseville, Dominique Rounseville, Katherine Peinhardt, Christopher Peinhardt, Levi Mercier, Theo Mercier, Joseph Mercier and Benjamin Mercier; and her sisters, Marie Robins of Charlottesville, VA and Madeline Bradley of Davie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was the foundation on which generations of the Mercier family grew.
