He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kashanski and Sophie Kashanski (Schelesko); and his siblings, Paul Kane, Nicholas, John Kashanski and Olga Valentine.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Anderson Kashanski (Holt); his stepdaughters, Barbara Anderson Millbach (Miles) and Lori Myers (Elmer); his grandchildren, Stacey Sprague (Joseph) and William Myers (Willie); his great grandchild Michael Sprague; and his sister Sophie Kashanski of Old Saybrook. He is also survived by eight nieces and one nephew.
