Erna S. Bentley Obituary

We are sad to announce that on November 25, 2022, at the age of 102, Erna S. Bentley of Stonington, Connecticut, born in Hartford, Connecticut passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her sister Adelheide Skarupa of Torrington, CT; and her sister-in-law Iris Davies (Ontario) of Don Mills. She is survived by: her daughters, Wendy Bly (Ken) of Norwich and Linda Bentley of Oakdale; her grandchildren, Kristy Head (Alan) of Pawcatuck and James Bly (Shannon) of Colorado Springs, CO; her great grandchildren, Oliver, Henry Head, Penelope and Gavin Bly; her sister Myra Stewart of Concord, NH; and her nieces and nephews, Heather Lord of Bow, NH, Elaine Regner of Ocala, FL, Gary Stewart of New Hartford, Glen Skarupa of East Hampton, Tudor Davies of Vancouver Island, BC, Morgan Davies and Trevor Davies of Plainsboro, NJ..

She was unable to have a party due to the COVID pandemic, so her family and friends, along with local first responders and the Stonington community, presented her with a 100th birthday parade at the facility.

While there she donated her uniform with the "Q" patch designation for the codebreaking unit.
