She is survived by: her parent Elizabeth Van Liew (Libby); her children, Susan Green (Brian), Clay Burkhalter (Gleanna), Wendy Eck (David), Heather Bessette (Stephen) and Holly Bosman (Michael); her stepchildren, Mike McCracken (Maureen), Dave McCracken, Karen Murphy and Tim McCracken; and her brother Robert Johnstone (Mary). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Stonington Free Library, which she adored.
