He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Scherp and Mary Scherp; his children, Michael Scherp and Susan Scherp; and his siblings, Edward Scherp Jr. and Carol Baranello.
He is survived by: his wife Helene Scherp (Tibbals); and his sons, Arthur Scherp Jr. of Marlborough, Jeffrey Scherp of Voluntown and Thomas Scherp of Sterling. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
