She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Agustus Maitland and Elizabeth Johanna Ferguson; and her siblings, George, Lenox, Lorraine and Cynthia.
She is survived by: her husband David Vargas of Stamford; her sons, Greg Vargas (Nzinga) of Stratford and Craig Vargas (Francesca) of Glen Ridge, NJ.; her sisters, Audrey, Sharon, Daphine, Marcella, Phyllis, Cecilia and Pearlie Maitland; and her grandchildren, Cassandra and Camila.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Yvette to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, or to the Connecticut Regional Hospice.
