She was predeceased by: her parents, John B. Dietl and Maria Dietl (Boxhorn); her husbands, George W. Bates and James Hayes; her children, Robert Bates, Jim Hayes and Susan Larsen; her stepdaughter Judy Hayes; and her sister Wilhelmina Polka.
She is survived by: her daughter Diane; her brothers, John W. (Elizabeth) and Richard; her granddaughters, Kimberly Larsen and Suzanne Rogers (Steven); and her great grandchildren, Sienna and Cameron (Rogers). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and many beloved friends.
