He was predeceased by: his father Charles Lavery; and his wife Josephine Lavery (Pennella). He is survived by: his children, Arthur Patrick Lavery, Jr., Debbie of Greenwich, Cynthia Lavery-Valenti (Bill) of Stamford and Jonathan Lavery (Tracy) of Stamford; and his grandchildren, Samantha Valenti, Jake Lavery and Matthew Valenti. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
