He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Hamer and Mildred Hamer (Cookson); his spouses, Shirley D. Hamer and Diane H. Hamer; and his siblings, Donna, Norman, Roy, Charles and Donald Hamer.

He is survived by: his children, Pamela Ostrout (Wayne), Tammy Scussel (Michael) and Lee Hamer (Heidi); his grandchildren, Corey Ostrout, Michael Ostrout and Jordan Maurial (Luis); his sister JoAnne West (Dick); and his close friend Linda C. Bennett. He is also survived by many stepchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
