He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy E. Bennett (Carter); his parents, Howard Bennett and Catherine Bennett (Parkhurst); and his siblings, Howard, Jr., Ronald Bennett and Donna Bennett.

He is survived by: his children, Herbert H. Bennett, Jr. (Laura), Bruce Bennett (Allison) and Donna Hnatiuk (Shanon Dore); his grandchildren, Corey Bennett (Jessica), Michael Bennett (Lindsay), Josh Hnatiuk, Jeremy Hnatiuk (Jade) and Madison Bennett; and his sisters, Gloria and Freda Long. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc. (51 E Main St, Stafford, CT 06076).
