Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved JoAnn Zygmant of Southport, Connecticut, born in Arlington, Virginia, who passed away at the age of 74, on February 9, 2025. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sidney High (Dorothy Carwile) and Bishop Denis J. O'Connell High; her son Tommy Burton; and her siblings, Stephen Edward Carwile and Dorothy Horwath (Dorrie).
She is survived by: her husband Edward Zygmant; her children, Christi McEldowney (Rip), Jonathan Ackerman and Matthew Ackerman (Nina Redfield); her grandchildren, Gracie and Ripper; her stepdaughter Stacey Mezzapelle (Brian); her stepgranddaughter Lily; her sisters, Nancy Harrison (Larry), Cathryn Bucks (Edward) and Sister Mary; her siblings-in-law, Christine Morin and Robert Horwath; and also Jo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home (50 Reef Rd, Fairfield, CT 06824). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Anthony of Padua Church (149 S Pine Creek Rd, Fairfield, CT 06824).
