She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Arthur Hessel and Frances Hessel; her spouse Lt. John E. Shaughnessey; her children, Peter Joseph Shaughnessey, John E. Shaughnessey, Jr. (Michelle) of Missoula, MT and Martha A. Gardner (Bill) of Cambridge, MA; her stepdaughter Frederica Batchelor (Fritzi) of Storrs, CT; her grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew Gardner, Peter and Jack Shaughnessey; and her brothers, Arthur G. Hessel, Jr. of Grisham, OR and Raymond S. Hessel (Cathy) of Fairfield.
