He was predeceased by: his father Benjamin Doerfler; his son Daniel Edward Doerfler; and his brother-in-law Thomas McLaughlin. He is survived by: his mother Shirley Doerfler (Andres); his wife Gail Doerfler (Hopkins); his sons, Benjamin Doerfler (Catherine) of Ivoryton, CT and Scott Peter Doerfler (Kimberly) of Southington; his grandchildren, Jacob Benjamin (Rose), Elizabeth, Myles, Shelby, Thomas and Victoria; his great grandchildren, Marcy Ellen and Maisie Rose; and his sister Lynn McLaughlin of Cromwell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
