He was predeceased by: his mother Alice Oliva (McCarthy); his grandparents, William "Babe", Frances Oliva and Alice McCarthy; and his father-in-law Herbert Green.

He is survived by: his spouse Mylinda Howard-Oliva; his father Robert Oliva of Windsor Locks; his children, Mitchell Robert Oliva of Southington and Jocelyn Sally Oliva of Southington; his siblings, Robert Oliva (Laurie) of Enfield, Lisa Prebit (Glenn) of Windsor Locks, Kelly Famiglietti (Charles) of Longmeadow, MA and Marie George (Mickey) of Wilbraham, MA.; and his mother-in-law Sally Green of Prospect. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
