He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schaffer and Ruth Schaffer (Winter); and his sons, John Schaffer Jr. and Matthew Shaffer. He is survived by: his wife Mari Schaffer (Bitel); his sister Gretchen Fau; his nephew Evan Fau of Fair Oaks, CA; his siblings-in-law, Barbara Thorin (Bruce) of Bristol and Robert Bitel (Roberta) of Winter Haven, FL.; and his friends, Brian and Colleen Gregson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
