She was predeceased by: her parents, John Sr. Demmons and Lucia Demmons (Sweeton); and her sister Elizabeth Jakiela. She is survived by: her son Jake M. Thayer; her husband Paul M. Thayer; and her siblings, Virginia Saunders Foote (Gary) of Asheville, NC, John L. Demmons Jr. of Plainville and Steven Saunders (Janice) of Colchester, VT. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
