He was predeceased by: his parents, George Thomson and Edith Vaughan Thomson. He is survived by: his wife Betty Maxymillian Thomson; his children, George M. Thomson (Leslie) of East Hartford, Elizabeth Thomson of Coventry and Gail Gilmore (Mark) of Longmeadow, MA; his brother William Thomson (Florence); his grandchildren, Michael, Victoria, Gregory Thomson, Heather Oatis (Seamus), Ryan and Jennie Gilmore; and his great grandchildren, Lydia and Gracelyn Oatis.
