He was predeceased by: his wife Cynthia Burns (Valerius); his mother Rachel Burns (Fiato); his son Christopher Lee Burns (Buzzi); and his brothers, Les Burns and Thomas Burns.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Burns (Robin) of Westerly, RI, Christian Burns (Jessica) of Cromwell, CT, Gregory Burns (Jody) of Andover, CT, Douglas Burns (Kathy) of Rocky Hill, CT and Deborah Butterfield (Scott) of Wethersfield, CT; and his siblings, Ronald Burns (Joanne) of Portland, ME and Sandra Brown (Donald) of Westbrook, ME. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
