Melissa Hebert wrote a sympathy message

“The first word that comes to mind with Steve is "big." The big smile of greeting, even if you'd just seen him the day before. The big laugh that could get everyone else laughing. His big heart and its capacity for love and generosity. The big zest for life that made time with him a joy. From kindergarten to today to forever, I'll always be glad and grateful to be your friend, Steve. We'll miss you.”

Maryann Ziman wrote a sympathy message

“I have been blessed to call Steve a friend since our high school days. His infectious laugh and larger than life personality always made you feel like he was happy to be in your presence. I will miss him yelling my name from across the room anytime I walked into a restaurant/ bar where he was holding court, because when Steve walked into a room, he owned it. I will miss you, my friend. Rest easy.”
