He was predeceased by: his parents, Constance Hill Pitney and Edward William Springer; and his brother Edward Springer (Jan) of Indianapolis, Indiana.. He is survived by: his wife Mercedes Springer (Lopez); his daughter Jennifer Victoria (Craig) of Southbury; his siblings, Joyce Ritch (Roger) of California and Bert Pitney (Veronica) of Seymour; his son Brian Springer (Allyson) of Southbury; and his grandchildren, Nicholas, Jake, Matthew and Brody.
