With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Catherine Welch of Southbury, Connecticut, who passed away on August 27, 2021. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John R. Furino and Rose M. Furino. She is survived by: her husband William J. Welch; her sons, John W. Welch (Gloria M.) and Michael C. Welch (Emily H.); her granddaughters, Annabelle M., Gabriella G. and Jenna R.; and her brothers, John R. Furino and Peter P. Furino (Eileen H. Catherine).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a contribution to St. Rose of Lima Church in Newtown, CT.

“We had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Welch at Mike and Emy’s wedding. She was such a lovely person. Although we did not know Mrs. Welch, we felt like we did through our relationship with Mike. We know just how wonderful she was in the way she raised her two amazing sons. She certainly made it her life’s work and am sure she was pleased and felt blessed with the “fruits of her labor.” The old photos of her holding Mike grab your heart and tell the story of a love like no other.
