He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter E. Driver and Edith Driver (Hager); his sons, Jason Matthew and Walter E. Driver III; and his former wife Gail Matthew Driver.
He is survived by: his wife Ngan Nguyen (Tracy); his daughters, Erica Messina (Mark) of Fairfield, Merissa Driver of Saint Augustine and Falyne Driver of West Hartford, Connecticut; his stepdaughter Marren Collier of Austin, Texas; his grandchildren, Niccolò and Nova Messina; and his siblings, David Driver (Kathleen), Cara Bride, Mary Stottman (Stephen) and Lisa Sherack (Roger). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
