She was predeceased by: her husband Manuel R. Melo; her parents, Joseph Tavares and Maria Jose Rezendes (Pacheco); her grandson Joseph Freitas; and her siblings, Laura Bettencourt, Maria of Lurdes DeMorais, Laudalina Estrela, Joseph Rezendes, Humberto Rezendes and Antonio Rezendes.
She is survived by: her son Thomas; her daughter-in-law Dulce Mello of South Windsor; her daughter Mary Cecilia Giungi of Surprise, AZ; her grandchildren, Erica Boulay (Daniel) of South Windsor, Tommy Mello of Boston, MA and Melissa Giungi of Surprise, AZ; her great grandchildren, Ava Boulay, Max Boulay and Jorden Giungi; her sister Nubelia Cabral of Avon; and her sister-in-law Judite Rezendes of West Hartford. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
