She was predeceased by: her parents, Domingo and Adela Zegarra (Yactayo); her grandson Gregory Brown, Jr.; and her siblings, Victor, Benedicto, Luis Zegarra-Yactayo, Meri Reyes, Mercedes Osorio and Aida Ramos.
She is survived by: her children, Eva Young (Jeffrey) of Kensington, Olga Fruster (Anthony) of East Hartford, Hernan Cortez (Marie) of South Windsor, Jacqueline Jardin (Salvadore) of Ellington and Brian Cortez (Alissia) of Frisco, TX; her grandchildren, Jennifer Young of Plainville, Jonathan Cortez of Kensington, Jamal Fruster of Tucson, AZ, Korinne Fruster of Providence, RI, Stephanie Cortez of Providence, RI, Alexander Cortez-Rich of Hartford, Hernan Cortez, Jr. of South Windsor, Marco Cortez of South Windsor, Mateo Cortez of Frisco, TX and Isela Cortez of Frisco, TX; and her great grandchildren, Tyler, Hailey and Emiliano. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
