He was predeceased by: his parent Fred C.. He is survived by: his spouse Elizabeth Addington (Risley); and his parent Alice Addington (Smith).
Throughout his life and across numerous states he was fondly known as the "Gravely Man,' and there wasn't anything he couldn't build or fix. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially at the coffee shop and the Golden Gavel auction. He will be deeply missed. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in South Windsor. Along with his wife of over 68 years, Elizabeth, he leaves his children, Thomas Addington and his wife, Chris of Chichester, New Hampshire, Terry Belknap and her husband, James of South Windsor, Nina Fisher, and her husband, Steve of Ft. Deposit, Alabama, and Linda Addington of South Windsor; his brother, Raymond Addington and his wife, Lena of Atlanta, Georgia; his sister, Martha Addington McCormick of East Hartford; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Vaughn Addington; and two sons, Robert, and Ronald Addington. His family will receive friends on Thursday, June 28, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 29, at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, 993 Main St., South Windsor. Burial will follow with military honors at East Windsor Hill Cemetery on Main Street, in South Windsor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of South Windsor.
