He was predeceased by: his father Gerald R. Hargrave; and his siblings, Darlene McCoy and Gerald R. Hargrave II. He is survived by: his mother Norma Hargrave (Butler) of South Windsor; his nieces, Chantel Layer and Deanna McCoy; and his great-niece Ellie Darlene Layer.
