He was predeceased by: his wife Judy Milkie (Kobylanski); his parents, Jules Milkie and Nellie L. Milkie (Nolan); his brothers, Robert Milkie of South Windsor and Richard Milkie of South Windsor; and his son Gary N. Milkie of South Windsor.
He is survived by: his children, Susan L. Gabriel of Danbury and James G. Milkie Jr. of South Windsor; his grandsons, John J. Gabriel (Ashley) of Newtown, Robert G. Gabriel (Katherine) of Arlington, VA and Jeffrey R. Gabriel of Chicago, IL; his great grandchildren, Nolan and Austin Gabriel of Newtown; his sister-in-law Marjorie Milkie of South Windsor; his nephews, Mark and David Milkie; and his cousin Margie Nolan of Windsor. He is also survived by several other cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
He was passionate about care for the elderly and even more so during the Covid pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wood Memorial Library in South Windsor or a charity of the donor's choice.
