Desso of Somers, Connecticut, born in Enfield, Connecticut, who passed away on February 19, 2025 at the age of 96, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his wife Eleanor Desso (Palmer); his sons, Richard and Scot Desso; and his sister Phyllis Sweet. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and many extended family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Somers Funeral Home (354 Main St, Somers, CT 06071).

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Rufus' name, in honor of his wife Eleanor, to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.

“I will always treasure the countless weekends at motocross with Rufus, Eleanor and Scot, the hunting expeditions in Stafford and Somers and the many nights working on motorcycles in the garage. Rufus lived a full life and was such a kind and loving man to all who met him and a very devoted father and husband. With much love and the fondest of memories Bill and Wendy McCloskey”
