She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Andrew Chesanek; her parents, Thomas Strode and Nora Strode (Richardson); and her siblings, Leon Strode and Shirley Strode Fondren.

She is survived by: her children, Hope C. Johnson (Bill), Marcus A. Chesanek, Faith A. Gouveia, Donna R. Graziano (Dave), Marie L. Dawson, Theresa C. Prior (Dennis), Christopher J. Chesanek (Amy), Charity C. M. Chesanek and Michael A. Chesanek; and her sister Joyce Woodson (John). She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations can be made to St. Jeanne Jugan Parish - St. Martha Catholic Church in Enfield, CT, St. Mary Catholic Church in Hampden, MA, and Baystate Hospice.
