He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald A. Heaton, Sr. and Marjorie Heaton (Allsop); and his son Jaret Heaton. He is survived by: his sisters, Barbara Jacius (Joseph) of Somers and Patricia Charette (Kevin) of Somers; his niece Stephanie Jacius (Michael); his nephews, Michael Jacius and Peter Charette; and also, Kyle, Stephen Charette and Timothy Charette (Nancy Quatrone).
