He was predeceased by: his son Robert, Jr.; and his siblings, Edward, John and Marilyn Conroy. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Koeniger Griffin; his daughter Tracey Griffin Himmel of Chapel Hill, NC; his grandchildren, Jack, Liam and Claire Himmel; and his godchildren, Mary McDonald, Elizabeth Griffin, Edward Griffin, Laura Galliher and Chris Conroy. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
